Energy healing or Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life Energy, or Rei =  Spirit Ki = Energy, an energy which is all around us. It is a gentle, natural healing technique, an energy healing system of Eastern origin whose purpose is to re-balance, replenish, and restore the complex energy systems that compose the body by channeling energy from an unlimited universal energy source through the hands of the practitioner. Reiki does not have its roots based on religion (click for American Court decision) and is not related to any religion or faith, nor it requires the practitioner to belong to any belief system or to be religious.

Reiki can be done by touch, or off the body (in person) or by distant healing and both methods are equally effective. The energy stimulates the immune system, facilitates the clearing of blockages in the energy centres, and repairs and rebalances them so that the body’s innate healing mechanisms are effectively activated.

Energy healing can also help identify congestions long before they manifest as pain or similar distortions in the physical body. It complements conventional health care and is also used in collaboration with many other approaches to health and healing by doctors, nurses, other therapists in their practices or in hospital. Please see research links below.

Reiki is a holistic practice that contributes to self-growth, and training of others, and it is considered to be a complementary therapy.

What is “Ki” or “Chi” ?

Chi” corresponds to a Chinese belief that the human body is a miniature universe, and has twelve energetic lines or pathways wherein Chi, energy, flows. These pathways, called by the Chinese “meridians“, control both our gross and subtle anatomy. Our gross anatomy is the body form that we can see, whereas our subtle anatomy, our most important (ethereal) organs that collects and store energy during our night sleep, cannot be seen by most people who are not clairvoyant or visually perceptive.

What are Meridians?

This subtle energetic body comprehends our body, mind, emotions, and spirit. The meridian lines travel throughout the entire body and they deal with energy and states of consciousness. According to Chinese Traditional Medicine, each meridian is associated with one of the Five Elements: fire, earth, water, metal, and wood, and connects to a Yin or Yang organ of the body linking to our states of consciousness.

What is Inherited Chi and Acquired CHI?

Chi relates to the human body in two different ways: Inherited Chi and Acquired Chi. Inherited Chi is the energy we receive from our parents at the time of conception that gives us life. Acquired Chi is the energy accumulated by the quality of life we choose to lead after the experiences we make and how we resolve them, as well as the food, liquids and the air we ingest.

According to the knowledge of natural healing, the major cause of disease is the congestion and followed blockage of Chi circulation after an emotional imbalance for quite some time.

People accumulate so much debris or matter, in other words, poisonous unresolved emotional imbalances, negative thought patterns, and become ill, starting to physically manifest illnesses. The longer they leave the emotional issue unresolved, the more dramatically affected the organ corresponding to that imbalance will be affected. They then cannot absorb enough Chi as the circulation in their body become congested or, in time even blocked and causes the manifestation of serious and severe illnesses.

The effects of Chi energy have been well documented by the Chinese Traditional Medicine and recognised by the Western Medicine as well as demonstrated through studies of Reikian Orgonomy and Radionics.

Human beings cannot sustain life by food and breathing alone as these don’t supply us with enough energy to live on. For us, it is important to have a strong flow of energy within the body and Chi healing is an ongoing process that creates a balance between the Yin and Yang energies within our being. The most nutritious food intake would not keep us alive if our inner constitution is weak. And our energy centres blocked.

In order to absorb, store and integrate the universal energy coming from outside, we must learn to integrate and strengthen the fundamental life force within our own body. Good health and wellbeing mean that we need to live in balance with all aspects of our internal world, the body, mind, emotions and spirit, so that we can be also in balance and have a good relationship with all different aspects of our own internal as well as our external world.
